Veteran radio broadcaster, manager and trainer Phil Charley was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in this week’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The citation reads: “Philip Nivison Charley, Gladesville, NSW: For services to broadcasting in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, and through education and training, particularly the development of technical and practical skills and professional attitudes and disciplines”

Phil Charley still teaches regularly at AFTRS and Maclay College and continues playing the Saxophone. Congratulations Phil and wife Marie!
