Podtrac launches free promo trading tool for podcasts worldwide

Podtrac has launched Promo Trades, a free podcast promotion-swapping tool available to any podcast using Podtrac measurement, announced on 14 July 2026.

The feature, accessible via a Promotions Dashboard at podtrac.com, lets publishers, networks and individual podcasters request and manage promo exchanges with other shows. Supported formats include dynamically inserted promo messages, embedded promos, special episodes posted to other podcast feeds, and smart links in episode or YouTube video descriptions.

Free and paid tiers

Requesting promo trades and viewing responses is free to any podcast using free Podtrac Measurement. Viewing inbound trade requests from other shows requires a paid Podtrac account. Podtrac Smart Links and Audio Promo Tracking — tools for measuring delivery and response across digital channels and audio placements — remain paid-only features offered separately from Promo Trades.

Publishers on the platform

American Public Media, Fox Audio Network, New York Public Radio (WNYC and WQXR), NPR, reVolver Podcasts, SiriusXM, and This American Life are using the Podtrac Promo Growth Platform to manage and track promotional activity across owned, bartered and purchased media.

Podcasts already on Podtrac can access Promo Trades by logging into their account and navigating to Promotions > Trades.

Podcasts not yet using Podtrac measurement can register for a free account at podtrac.com. Network-affiliated podcasts should contact their network or email [email protected].
