Poking fun at PM – HowWould John song available for Free Download

Looking for a satirical comment on the latest revelations on the Children Overboard affair? Free audio of a song about the issue is available – click below.

In the tradition of 60s protest songs, regional NSW band Cowpoke have taken their thoughts about this and other election issues into the recording studio.

With our federal leader recently lamenting the fact that no-one has
written a song about him, “HowWould John?” is a timely satire on
John Howard’s Immigration policy and involvement in the Iraq war.

“I got myself a mess of refugees

kept them in the shed with my fresh picked peas

the press got wind of my illegal stash…

How would John ‘Tampa’ with the evidence?”

HOW WOULD JOHN ? (c) 2004. Cowpoke

how would john tampa with the evidence ?

.

i got myself a mess of refugees

kept them in the shed with my fresh picked peas

the press got wind of my illegal stash

oh how was i to hide them all and still collect my cash

well i thought real hard of what my hero would do

’cause he don’t see the truth just like me and you

he’d claim he had no idea of what was going on

and find someone else to say they were in the wrong, oh

how would john tampa with the evidence ?

.

well i started a war with my neighbour next door

i said he had my mower and was trying to make some more

i sent my wife over she was armed with a rake

but i’d lent my mower to my dad it was a big mistake

well i thought real hard of what my hero would do

’cause he don’t see the truth just like me and you

he’d find a winning team just to stand with and smile

and claim he didn’t know that george was telling him lies, so

how would john tampa with the evidence ?

.

well we went out sailing and the kids fell overboard

i took some photos of them to run insurance fraud

and now i’m in court because they know the kids are right

and they say i’ll go to prison and it’s causing me a fright

well i thought real hard of what my hero would do

’cause he don’t see the truth just like me and you

he’d say that he was misinformed and didn’t have the facts

but his mates would get his full support until they got the axe

how would john tampa with the evidence ?

.
