With the race that stops the nation just days away, Nova 100 is gearing up for its second year as official FM partner for the VRC Melbourne Cup Carnival.

 

Nova kicks off its Cup celebrations from this Saturday 3 November. Coverage \will include a range of special events during the racing carnival that takes place all through next week in Melbourne.

Night announcer, Deano will broadcast live from the James Boag Draught Escape Bar in Hill Square Precinct from 1pm to 4pm on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day.

Nova 100’s Hughesy & Kate will capture the colour and excitement of ladies day with their annual Oaks Day outside broadcast from the Railway Hotel in Richmond from 6am.

Featuring celebrity guests, live entertainment, racing fashion and betting experts, Nova 100 will kick start listener’s Crown Oaks Day early and after the OB Hughesy & Kate will take 80 winners for a day at the races in Nova’s VIP marquee.

Nova’s announcers are getting in the racing spirit, participating in numerous events throughout the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Nova 100 News Journalist and fashionista Lauren Brain will be part of the judging panel for Myer Fashions on the Field on Crown Oaks Day while Tim Blackwell, from Nova’s national Drive show, will be one of the judges on Emirates Stakes Day.

In the lead up to the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Nova 100 has given listeners the chance to win tickets to Nova 100’s VIP marquee, located in The Precinct, with hospitality and live entertainment for all the race days.

The week of racing events in Melbourne includes:

AAMI Victoria Derby Day (3 November),

Emirates Melbourne Cup Day (6 November),

Crown Oaks Day (8 November) and

Emirates Stakes Day (10 November).

 

Nova 100’s partnership with the VRC’s Melbourne Cup Carnival 2012 complements the station’s commitment to Melbourne’s major events including the fourth year as FM radio partner for Australian Open in 2013, a long history with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and a three year relationship with Mt Buller.
