Last night, fan favourite Dami Im was crowned winner of Seven’s singing competition X-Factor. But what many don’t know is that she owes her second shot in the competition to former contestant Matt Gresham, who pulled out just when the competition was heating up to focus on his own singing and song writing career.

Dami, who originally didn’t make it through boot camp, was thrust back into the spotlight after Matt’s departure. With lots of hard work, the 24-year old singing queen forged her way into elusive top 12 and was announced the winner last night.

On air this morning, Fox FM breakfast hosts Matt Tilley and Jo Stanley gave Dami the chance to speak with Matt for the first time since he left the competition, and say thank you for giving her another chance.
