AFTRS Open has a range of weekend short courses in the coming months, all taught by radio industry professionals, in AFTRS state-of-the-art radio studios in Sydney.

Advanced Announcing & Presentation with Podcasts
With access to AFTRS’ state-of-the-art studios, you will work in small groups to present your own radio show. Led by tutor Rachel Corbett, your group will choose a subject, plan, and present a radio podcast from beginning to end. Plus you’ll be taken through the process of editing the resulting audio, so that by the conclusion of the course you’ll  have the knowledge and skills to begin your own podcast.

Radio News Fundamentals
Need a radio news demo? The role of the Newsreader/Journalist includes researching, writing and presenting on-air news stories. Over two days, advance your skills in writing and recording news bulletins using NewsBoss® and the latest AAP newswire service in AFTRS’ state of the art facilities. Learn from 2GB news radio expert Jess Campanaro and create a radio news demo of your own!

Voice Over
Just having a great voice is not enough — you need the skills to be able to use it properly. Industry experts Gaby Brown (Triple J) and Simon Harvey will teach you the techniques to get the best out of your voice and get a start in the voice over industry. This two-day intensive course features numerous practical exercises and is held in AFTRS’ state of the art radio studios.

Announcing & Presentation
