ABC presenter Jon Faine has landed in trouble with ABC management after talking about his experiences with puff the dragon in his twenties.

ABC management quickly issued an order that he was not to make any further comments or talk to the press.

The Herald Sun found that many local radio names, including Faine’s breakfast show colleague at the ABC, Red Symons, were happy to have a chat about their dalliance with the magic smoke.

Symons said he used to smoke, and inhale “with gusto”, but that was twenty years ago.

Over at 3AW, Neil Mitchell, told the Herald Sun he’d tried it a few times, his drivetime collegue Derryn Hinch said he had never been tempted but suggested some drugs should be legalized.

Wilbur Wilde, from the Vega 91.5 drive show, said he broke a 15-year-drought a few years ago, in an effort to relive his youth.

“It was just there and I thought maybe it will be more enjoyable these days, and it kinda was, but it kinda wasn’t. I can live without it,” he said.

Faine’s dope-smoking disclosure was stimulated by a talk-back caller’s story of a bad reaction to marijuana. He told his listeners.

“I would have been in my late 20s and I sort of, you know, was quite used to, occasionally, you know maybe once a week or so with friends, having a relaxing toke”.

“I flipped out with this particular joint and I was I don’t know where, spinning around the place, and terrible things were going on.
“I thought, ‘Eeugh, I don’t like that, I’m never doing that again’.”

Faine was banned by ABC management from any further comment.
ABC Spokesperson Natalie Muscat explains
