Radio station on skid row

Sydney community radio station Radio Skid Row has had a dark cloud hanging over it’s head for some time now as the Australian Taxation Office has begun proceedings to wind up the station on the first of June.

Sue Javes from the Sydney Morning Herald spoke to president Craig Bulley who assured her that it’s all under control.

He said that for many years the station has been paying off an outstanding debt to the ATO as a result of a former manager who was not paying compulsory superannuation.
Half of the $27,000 debt had been paid be the station, however they had mistakenly missed a payment.

Bulley has been in contact with the ATO and proceedings have been put on hold to allow the station to repay the debt.
