Radio Students go live on Show Radio

23 Radio Students from The Australian Film Radio School (AFTRS) will make their debut on the radio this week with live radio programs from this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show.

For two weeks from the 1st of April, listeners will be entertained by Show Radio in Sydney on 107.9 and live on the internet through the link below.

The broadcast will deliver up to the minute information, entertainment, interviews, traffic and news from the Easter Show, with a country music format.

Students will broadcast from a fully equipped, glass studio on the first floor of the main arena.

AFTRS Director of Radio Mark Collier says: “AFTRS students will be a big part of Australian radio in the future and this is their first chance to do a live broadcast from such a large event. They will hone their skills in announcing producing and reporting.

“Most of our students will start their radio careers in regional towns across Australia when they finish at AFTRS. The Show is where the city meets the country, where they will be exposed to key aspects of life and characters from regional Australia.”
