Radioactive conference in Newcastle

As part of the ‘This is not art’ festival in Newcastle NSW there is a radio conference called radioactive.

The conference happens 2nd – 4th October and is “open to anyone involved in community, commercial, public, online, and digital radio. A range of issues across the medium is explored, discussed and debated, by panels of radio presenters, producers, directors and other experts involved in the making of radio.”

It will cover topics such as online streaming, youth radio, funding, indigenous broadcasting, documentaries, researching news, music playlisting, sports broadcasting, and community media training. Confirmed speakers include:

Radioactive is on the first three days of ‘This Is Not Art’ with all sessions held in City Hall Hunter Room, located King Street Newcastle across from Civic Park. Other festival sessions will be held in venues within a 2-minute walk. Registration fee for the 3 days is just $22 (incl gst).
