Ray Hadley’s latest campaign: 2MC needs a new clacker!

Ray Hadley does a lot of charity work and this week a footy related cause close to his heart took him to 2MC territory on the NSW north coast. Last night he was the MC and Auctioneer at Club Forster for the Curtis Landers Fundraiser where a sell-out crowd of 700 attended and raised about $250 000 for the charity.

Curtis was seriously injured in a junior rugby league match a couple of months ago in Port.

Instead of racing back to Sydney after the event Hadley decided that broadcasting from the studios of 2MC FM, just north of Forster, would be the best thing for all concerned.

In return for the inconvenience of messing up the 2MC studios. Ray even made an appearance with local breakfast presenter Strawny, to spin the 2MC birthday prize wheel… and that’s when he discovered it…

2MC needs a new clacker!

The old clacker on the 2MC birthday wheel is broken.

Always campaigning for the underdog, Ray threatened to take the fight for a new clacker right to the Chairman of 2MC’s parent company SCA, Max Moore-Wilton. Ray also wondered whether the lack of a functional clacker may be a breach of some lottery rule.

The OB was a success. He did not even have to do his own pips during this broadcast. But the scandal of the broken clacker is sure to continue. radioinfo will keep you informed of all the latest developments in this important radio industry issue as they break.
