Rebel FM raises $15,000 for Movember

The international ‘Movember’ movement has wrapped up for 2021, and radio station Rebel FM has raised $15,679 for the important cause through their Moustache Ride.

“This year saw the Moustache Ride hosted in three locations, The Gold Coast, Darling Downs and Wide Bay,” says Rebel FM Breakfast Host and Promotions Manager Ash Palmero.

“Over 400 riders registered to be part of the day and Rebel FM positioned the ride as a National Ride for the first time offering Personal Moustache rides for anyone to join across Australia. This will continue next year, so watch this space in 2022!”

Rebel FM also arranged two major raffles to help raise donations, including giving away a Ducati Watch valued over $900 and a new Bushranger Mower worth more than $550.

“This, and the great work done from our live band partners Bear and The Sheriffs, saw more than $2,700 fall into the Movember Team account,” Ash says.

“When it comes to the wellbeing of men, Rebel FM is the station that really makes a difference. A solid effort by all involved in Movemebr 2021.”

‘Movember’ is an annual event in which supporters grow moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.

The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com.
