Rebel FM’s Dave Holleran moves from breakfast to drive

After 5 years working alongside Ash Palmero on the highly successful Breakfast show, Dave Holleran has taken up the offer to follow his first passion, music and will spend more time developing Rebel FM’s rock music specials.

General Manager Cheryl Jowitt says: “We’re moving forward into an exciting era for radio development and this shift will allow Dave to further develop our music.

“Ash and Dave has become an ‘iconic’ brand for the station, but by bringing in fresh new talent, we’ll be able to expand on the great work we do with fresh eyes and ideas; on air and in our local community. We are immensely proud of the work both Ash and Dave do in our local area.”

For Dave Holleran the move to new timeslot is about building great content for the audience and to keep delivering winning programs:

“It’s been incredible working with Ash on the breakfast show, but after dealing with illness for the past 7 months, it’s time to take a step back from the rigours of Breakfast radio, get the health right and work on delivering great content across the board for the Rebel brand. Really looking forward to driving home our listeners and continuing to deliver great music based content for our audience.”

Rebel FM is currently looking for a new co-host for the Breakfast show, based on the Northern Gold Coast.

Dave’s leaving behind big shoes to fill, so the next person is going to have to have not only radio on air experience, but also digital media skills and a great sense of humour.

The network is expanding it’s on air line up after the departure of Jake Chapman who returns to work in the family business in Far North Queensland.

There’s positions open for two on air all-rounders and a breakfast slot. See our jobs page.
