Rebel Radio opens up a new station in Wide Bay

Rebel Radio Network has opened a new radio station in Wide Bay, The Breeze 102.5 FM.

The network is owned by the Jowitt Family group of companies in Queensland, and Managing Director Aaron Jowitt says the coverage area of Breeze 102.5 FM is considerable and takes in the cities of Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg along with regional towns of Childers and Gin Gin on the Bruce Highway.

He says, “The Breeze 102.5 is the first and only commercial FM station that jointly services Maryborough, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay. It means that our content is more localised, and specifically for Wide Bay.”

Network General Manager Cheryl Jowitt says she’s been amazed at the response to this family-orientated music format since bringing it to the Wide Bay and Fraser Coast market  just over 2 months ago, “The response from listeners and advertisers has been amazing.  This area is becoming increasingly popular to not only people wanting a sea change from city life, but for retirees seeking warmer climates. The Breeze 102.5 FM fills a need for the music of that generation and we’re seeing the audience grow daily.”

The broad playlist of music on offer ranges from the seventies through to today and the station is spearheaded by Rob Doorey’s More Music Breakfast Show and Murray Shoring who hosts Love Songs After Dark on Monday through Thursday nights.
