Regional licence holders are less than impressed with the government’s proposed local news restrictions.

A four and a half hour quota of “live and local” presentation is mostly compatible with hubbed programming models as many stations still provide a local breakfast show.

The Australian today reports that owners are upset however, with the minimum 12.5 minutes of local news, five days a week.
