Reports Fairfax chairman is facing ACMA investigation

It’s being reported the Australian Communications and Media Authority are investigating Fairfax Chairman-elect Nick Falloon over an alleged breach of the Broadcast Services Act following the Macquarie Fairfax merger.

Mr.Falloon has been temporarily stood aside after the company failed to seek prior approval from ACMA for its directors to temporarily breach broadcasting rules by holding more than two radio licences in Sydney, where it would control three stations.

The Australian is reporting Mr Falloon has effectively been in breach of the law from March 31 when the merged radio company began trading.

Nick Falloon replaced Roger Corbett in March.
