Rex Hunt unleashes on a 3AW executive during his last program

Thursday 08 July, 2021

The reason for Rex Hunt’s departure from 3AW may well lie in the result of an onair rant delivered in his last program on the station.

Incensed at a phone call he received from a station executive about a missed ad break, during an interview with Robert DiPierdomenico, that ran over its allotted time slot, Hunt unleashed, screaming at the executive “...don’t ring during my program, got it?”

In a note to staff, Station Manager, Stephen Beers said, "Rex Hunt has advised us that he is sadly taking leave of his duties at 3AW to focus on his family.
As much as he has loved his return to 3AW and we have loved having him on Footy Nightline, we wish him well for the future.

"Rex knows the door is always open for him."

I think Rex is losing it psychology.
I rang him early this year and I said are you there Rexy and he immediately hung up up on me and he said " My father waisted good sperm before I was conceived .
Now you wouldn't hear Neil Mitchell or Tom Elliott say things like that.
Why should Rex Hunt get away with it.
The way he ranted and raved on air about his management on air is a disgrace .
He should know about the allocated time slots for commercial breaks and he could of said to Dipper it's time for a short break we'll be back soon as he done with previous interviews.
I just hope early dementia hasn't hit poor old Rexy.

Dipper is a 5 time premiership player, he played 8,000 games and this and that, but you still missed the bloody ad break Rex.
