After 22 years on breakfast, US Radio Legend Rick Dees announced this week he has been axed from his KIIS-FM Los Angeles Breakfast Show, effective immediately.

His wacky breakfast program on Clear Channel’s 102.7 KIIS-FM and his internationally syndicated “Rick Dees Weekly Top 40” have made Dees famous on over 350 radio stations in the USA and in 23 countries.

He expects that the Weekly Top 40 program will continue.

Dees said: “It’s been decided that I will no longer be doing the daily morning radio show on KIIS-FM.”

In his farewell announcement he spoke about the program’s high revenue for the station, the success of the Weekly Top 40 and thanked his wife and listeners for their support.

He is expected to be replaced by Ryan Seacrest.
