River 949 has announced its new breakfast team for 2009. Ruby Slipperz and Dave Greensmith will take over the breakfast slot in January, replacing Wayne Roberts.

Ruby Slipperz comes to the Ipswich based station after 4 years as a Toowoomba City Councilor, Dave Greensmith comes most recently from the successful Fraser Coast based Sea FM Morning Crew.

Both Ruby and Dave have had extensive radio careers, Ruby holding down the number one breakfast position on Toowoomba radio prior to her stint on council. Dave Greensmith has been on radio for almost 20 years, also holding the role of Elwood Blues in the Blues Brothers Review show at Universal Studios. Both are professional musicians.

Ruby says she is excited to be paired with Dave to “take the challenge in a very competitive market.” Dave says it’s “a great opportunity to come home to do what I love best.”

River 949 Program Director Mike Byrne has told radioinfo: “Ruby and Dave have been getting on like a house on fire… lets see if that continues when they have to wake up every day at 4am.”

The Ruby and Dave Show begins January 12th.
