The first day of the month is Breast Check Day across the ARN KIIS network. It was inspired by Mix102.3 breakfast host Ali Clarke’s breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy in July. This morning Ali told listeners and co-host Max Burford that 7News presenter Rosanna Mangiarelli will cover for her for the next few weeks while she undergoes her second mastectomy.

The second breast removal is a “safety thing”, with Ali saying:

“It’s also a bit of taking control back, more so for the kids because you know I’m doing this without worrying about cancer and everything else, even though that’s in the background, but it’s just the choice we’ve made, and we are very, very comfortable with it.”
