Rove McManus to take over 2Day Breakfast?

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Gold Logie winner and TV producer Rove McManus will take over the struggling Breakfast show at SCA’s hit network flagship 2Day FM.

McManus is no stranger to radio and Austereo in particular. Having started on triple j in 1999 by the following year he was filling in on Triple M’s Andrew Denton Breakfast Show when Amanda Keller was co-host along with the network’s current Content head, Mike Fitzpatrick

In 2002 Roving Enterprises was commissioned to produce a weekly program for the Today Network. Hosted by McManus, it included Peter Helliar and Corinne Grant.

A report by Michael Bodey in the Australian said it was not clear whether they had secured a co-host for McManus and that talent on Ten’s The Project had been approached but without success. The report did not mention whether 2GB night host and The Project regular Steve Price had been sounded out. Nonetheless, McManus has strong connections with a wide range of Australia’s most talented people.

The Oz article also confirmed much of the speculation in our previous story regarding line-up changes in the Melbourne radio market.
