RSN races towards Its biggest Cup Day ever

Melbourne Racing And Sport station RSN is already at the gates for racing’s biggest day of the year.

 

The racing industry’s own broadcaster, on AM 927, is set to deliver an unparalleled presentation of Melbourne Cup Day, with the shows, the people, and an insider’s access to essential opinion and information, to satisfy seasoned race fans and once-a-year punters.

As well, RSN’s feature events digital channel, Carnival, will be on the air, so punters can select Carnival’s more intense Cup Day coverage, on digital radio, and on new digital media platforms such as smartphones.

RSN’s Executive Chairman Michael Harms has told radioinfo: “This is what our racing team loves the most – tracking down the sharpest information for punters, getting the opinions that matter, and presenting the best events on the big stage.” 

“And our use of new media, like streaming live audio to smartphones, means we can deliver the latest Cup Day news and information to punters wherever they are.”

Cup Day On RSN will begin at 
5.00am with Breakfast Cup Day Edition hosted by Michael Christian & Mick McGuane.


6:30am – On The Punt with Bruce Clark & Matthew Stewart, including 6:35am Track Report from Flemington’s Track Manager
 and, at 6:40am, Trainers, owners and riders exclusive comment

8.00am The Cup Day Panel, analysing the Flemington card, with Clark, and Stewart joined by top form analyst Deane Lester, and Australia’s number one racecaller Greg Miles.


9:50am – RSN’s Racing Service, with host Brian Mazzoletti and form analyst Deane Lester. â€¨Beginning with the Cup Day Preview from Flemington with Greg Miles.

Race One starts at 10:20am, at 
2:45pm there is a Cup Countdown, and at â€¨3:00pm hear Greg Miles’ call of the 2012 Emirates Melbourne Cup.

Carnival’s cup day coverage will simulcast some of RSN’s programs, then go further, with form from Nadia Horne, analysis from Vince Accardi, trackside reports from Shane Anderson and Deane Lester, and betting markets and trend-spotting from Betstar’s Alan Eskander.  

Carnival’s special guest will be one of the Faces Of The Spring Carnival, jockey Katelyn Mallyon, all leading up to the big race at 3:00 pm.
