No one ever wants to run out of petrol, but that is exactly what eight listeners were all hoping would happen to them on The Edge 96.ONE’s Mike E and Emma Breakfast Show, when they put their own twist on roulette.
 
Jaycee, Chris, Annalyce, Taylor, Natalie, Victoria, Anthony and Julie were selected from thousands of hopeful entries to try their luck and win a brand new car. 
 
From wanting the independence of having their very first car, needing a new car to replace their aging wheels, or hoping to win the prize for their loved ones, every contestant had their fingers crossed they would be the lucky winner. 
 
Each contestant took their place on Mike E & Emma’s giant pink roulette wheel while a brand new Suzuki Swift, with just $1 of petrol in the tank, was driven around the wheel until it ran out of petrol.
 
It took a specially trained driver more than 40 minutes of careful steering around the track until the car finally ran out of petrol in front of lucky listener on number four – Anthony.
 
Anthony, from Burwood, was so pleased to have won the car he fell to his knees speechless. 

The new Suzuki Swift will be a present for his fiancé Jessica.
