Sammy Power will join Illawarra radio station 96.5 Wave FM on its breakfast show in 2011. The multi award winning presenter will work with Dave Gorr, who remains on breakfast, while the two previous breakfast team members, Greg Vincent and Jade Papesch will stay at Wave FM in other roles.

Grant Broadcaster’s NSW Area Manager Wendy Gee has told radioinfo:  

“It’s an exciting time for Wave FM and The Illawarra. Sammy is incredibly talented, very funny and everyone is looking forward to welcoming her to the Wave FM family. She’s been making people laugh for a long time so we’re delighted to have an entertainer of Sammy’s calibre on board.”

Wave FM station manager Tony Williams said of Greg, Dave and Jade: “We’re pleased to retain their great talents at Wave FM. Dave Gorr will continue in the re-vamped breakfast show. Greg Vincent will also be a major contributor as Producer. Jade Papesch will have a multi-faceted role including announcing.”

Wave FM Program Manager Steve Fox reckons Sammy and Dave in The Morning is “going to give The Illawarra a fresh new breakfast show that I’m sure will have people talking.”

Sammy was most recently at Hot 91 on the Sunshine Coast.
