Caroline Hutchinson announced on air this morning she will be leaving MIX FM on the Sunshine Coast at the end of this year.

Caroline said when she arrived on the Coast in 1998 her three children were under 10 (she’s now a grandma) and houses could be purchased for under $150K. She and her co-host Mark Darin have worked together on breakfast for more than 20 years.

There are no immediate plans for 2025 other than a lie in, walking the dogs on the beach in the morning and finding her second career using the multitude of skills she has already.

Listeners were devastated with one, Suzi, saying on Facebook:

“I was too choked up to phone in, but as I sat in traffic, I wondered how many others around me were sitting there stunned and shocked like me. You will be missed so much, your unique personality is a gift to the coast and we have benefitted in so many different ways that Thank You will now become the two most inadequate words in the English language.”

Mark & Caroline, and the Great Southern Land Media Group station have raised more than $8 million over the years for chronically ill children of the Coast, one of their many charitable activities over the years.
