SCA has announced the new Weekend Breakfast with Sophie and Dave show, to be launched on September 14 and airing from 7am each Saturday and Sunday.

The radio show will be produced by MCM Media and air nationally on the Today Network.

Sophie Monk has already been heard on the Today Network, filling in most recently for Fifi Box who took pregnancy leave.

Sophie, who’s returning home from Los Angeles said:“When Dave told me he was a world class barista, professional short order chef and accredited shoulder masseur, I jumped at the chance of working with him. Spending Saturday and Sunday mornings with that kind of talent is a dream come true. I also hear he’s not too bad at radio either!’”

Dave Thornton said: “We bring different talents to the table. She’s been a pop singer and Hollywood actor and I once ate two kilograms of cashews in one sitting. I think this is going to work well.”

Head of Today Network Content Dave Cameron said:“Australia heard how down-to-earth and off the cuff Sophie is when she filled in for Fifi earlier this year. Combine that with one of Australia’s funniest comedians – weekend mornings will be undeniably entertaining.”

‘Weekend Breakfast with Sophie and Dave’ will be broadcast on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7-9am across 50 radio stations around the country and will be available to download as a podcast. Fans can interact with the show via Facebook, twitter and the show website.
