91.7 ABC Coast FM announced a new presenter for the drive program in 2013.

The current drive presenter Bernadette Young will now host the breakfast program and Scott Lamond joins the 91.7 ABC Coast FM team to present drive in 2013.  

The rest of the station’s line up remains unchanged with Nicole Dyer on Mornings, Richard Fidler on Conversations, Kelly Higgins-Devine on Afternoons and Rebecca Levingston on Evenings.  Weekend programs remain unchanged. 

Scott Lamond returns home to Queensland from Western Australia where he presented the breakfast program and also managed the regional ABC North West station.

“Scott is eager to embrace his new role with the opportunity to move with his young family to the coast. Scott’s creative flair and commitment to great broadcasting were rewarded at last year’s Local Radio Awards when ABC North West was named Regional Station of the Year, talents that will serve him well in the competitive Gold Coast market.  Scott will join the Gold Coast team towards the end of March,” 91.7 ABC Coast FM Content and Music Director Trevor Jackson has told radioinfo.

Bernadette Young has endeared herself to Gold Coasters since taking on the Drive program in 2011 and will now move into Breakfast, making her the only female ABC Local Radio Breakfast host in a surveyed market.
