Scott Mayman will head a new online news project for regional Australia

Award winning broadcaster and journalist Scott Mayman has been appointed News Editor of a new,  grassroots, online newspaper, My News Feed.

 
The online news publication developed by the Australian family-owned, Rebel Connect Group that runs the regional radio network, Rebel FM, and the Breeze across Queensland and News South Wales will launch the online publication in the coming months across regional markets in Queensland.
 
Group Manager, Cheryl Jowitt says the service will provide smaller communities with access to a more localised service and along with the local radio, services help connect these communities by providing free access to local news and information online and on air, “We are excited that Scott has decided to join the team and build his own team of news people dedicated to reporting local issues. This venture is based on a model where the local newspaper and radio stations work together to create a strong, more cohesive community.”
 
Scott Mayman was the News Director at 4BC in Brisbane and former News Director at KCMO-AM in Kansas City and has worked in both Australia and the United States in both news and on-air presenting
 
“I’ve pretty much done it all over the past 35 years and I’m looking forward to the next adventure, working with a great team of newshounds on a local news website,  dedicated to the local community. News has been a passion of mine for many, many years with an emphasis on local content”.
 
In Australia Scott has worked at 2SM, 2KY, 4BC, 4BH, 4KQ, 4CC, ABC Radio, SEA FM, MIX FM, GOLD FM, COAST ROCK FM and more recently,  Radio 97.
 
His big challenge was working in the United States at KCFX-FM, KCMO-AM, KCIY-FM and JACK FM.
