Sea FM breakfast presenter in quarantine for Swine Flu

As soon as someone says they’re sick in a radio station these days everyone yells “Swine flu.” In the case of the Sunshine Coast’s SEA FM morning crew it may be true, with breakfast host Honor currently in quarantine for signs of the pandemic. But that won’t keep her from going to air.

After visiting Melbourne on the weekend and getting flu like symptoms, Honor was told by her boss today to get checked at the Queensland Health testing site in Maroochydore.

Honor was assessed and Queensland Health decided she was at risk of having Swine Flu so a swab test was done.

Due to the increased demand on the lab, with nearly 150 people testing positive to Swine Flu across Queensland, it will be 72 hours before Honor finds out the results for the test and has been told to go into quarantine at home for the next three days.

But that doesn’t mean the show won’t go on. Honor has decided to do her part of the SEA FM breakfast show live from quarantine.

Program Director Ross Turner says hat’s off to Honor for following company protocol and getting checked:

“Whilst we aren’t doctors we are confident she’ll be cleared and back in the studio soon. But, in the interest of all other staff members health she has quarantined herself and broadcasting live from her sick bed. This once again shows her commitment to the show and explains why they are the number one breakfast show on the coast.”
