Sea FM collects for Vanuatu disaster

The Sea FM Breakfast show with Galey, Ross and Charli has put the call out to the Gold and Tweed Coasts to help donate to the Give to Vanuatu appeal.

Earlier this week the trio spoke to Cassie Phelan who lives in Vanuatu, but had been holidaying on the Gold Coast while Cyclone Pam hit her home.

Cassie lived through Vanuatu’s last big cyclone (Uma) in 1987 and knew the devastation the country was facing. Cassie and her friend Leonie Martin have set up a Facebook page Give to Vanuatu to seek out donations to help the people of Vanuatu get back on their feet.

Galey, Ross and Charli are rallying behind this appeal, and will be collecting items to send to the people of Vanuatu.

On Friday morning from 6am, Galey Ross and Charli will broadcast live from Kurrawa Park in Broadbeach with a removal truck to fill with donated goods.

The items in need include:

  • Lighting – Torches, batteries, generators
  • Building Supplies – Tools, Roofing Iron, Nails etc.
  • Sanitary items – Ladies menstrual pads, soap, moisturiser, deodorant
  • Baby Needs – Nappies, baby wipes and formula
  • Kids items – Toys, clothing etc.
  • Canned Foods
  • Clothing
  • Kitchenware

Listeners can donate by dropping off items to Galey, Ross and Charli this Friday morning at Kurrawa Park from 6am.
