The Australian Broadcasting Authority has allocated a new community radio licence for Bourke to Muda Aboriginal Corporation. The station will operate on 106.5 MHz and service the towns of Bourke, Brewarrina, Lightening Ridge and Walgett. The licensee has 12 months to get the new service up and running.
ABA Chairman David Flint said, “The proposed service will add to the range and diversity of services in the Bourke region.” The ABA allocated this licence after a process of consultation with the local community to seek their views on what additional broadcasting services were needed in their area. Muda Aboriginal Corporation was the only applicant for the licence.
