Seeking memories of Kevin John

radioinfo has received a request from Kevin John’s godson Nathan Chilver for memories of Kevin.

Nathan has written:

His loss was such a sudden shock and is still quite hard to comprehend.

I knew Kev my entire life (so much so I actually took my first steps towards him) and we are very saddened over his passing to say the least.

I read the online tribute to ‘KJ’ and I note there were comments from his peers and other radio industry people. He was such a professional.

There is a considerable outpouring of grief over Kevin’s passing… I’m wondering if you are able to help me out.  I’m looking to compile as many radio memories of Kev, images of him at work or promo shots or anything like that I can to put together and give to his remaining family members.

We have many cherished family photos of Kevin – but I’m just trying to collate something that also highlights how his radio industry journey progressed.

We literally grew up with Kevin as a massive part of our lives. My Mother, father, sister, two brothers and I all grew up with Kevin. He was a 7th member of my family.
My brother and I were even lucky enough to join Kev at the TTFM studios and on some occasions, even joined him and ‘help’ him do some promotions when Kev MC’d various events – such as a series of concerts etc in and around Melbourne.

Nathan sent us one of his favourite pictures (above) of Kev and himself, taken some years ago near his place in Elsternwick one day when they went for a walk in the area nearby.

If you have anything for Nathan’s tribute for the family, please contact him using the details below.
