As often happens in most extended families, someone gets pregnant. In the case of the Jonesy and Amanda Breakfast Show on WSFM 101.7 it’s newsreader Sarah Foster who is set to go on maternity leave.

Taking her place from next week while she’s away will be the highly respected Seven News anchor, Mark Ferguson.

Amanda says, “Mark is an exceptional journalist, foreign correspondent and news reader with more than 30 years’ experience – but will that prepare him for sharing our box of Weet-Bix and seeing my face at 5.30am every morning?”

Brendan adds, “I watch Mark on the 6pm news, he is always very well presented and professional so I look forward to roughing him up a bit.”

What says Mark Ferguson? “What really “gets my goolies”, as Jonesy & Amanda would say, is getting up before the sun, but this will be well worth it.

“I can’t wait to join Mr and Mrs Radio for lots of Weet-Bix and a bit of news. Oh, and management have told me I can play as many Bob Dylan and INXS tunes as I like – just don’t tell Jonesy and Amanda.”

In a statement, ARN said, “Sarah has been the newsreader and highly regarded member of the Jonesy & Amanda team for almost three years. All at WSFM wish her all the best at this exciting time.”
