It was so close for Lisa to win Perth’s Mix94.5’s One Million Dollar Code with the breakfast team of Pete & Kymba that it was almost spooky.
Since June listeners to the station have been calling in with daily codewords to go onto a standby list for the competition, proudly supported by Endeavour Homes. One person on that list would be chosen to play for the $1 million.
Kymba Cahill said:
“You don’t know what people are going through and this is such a beautiful opportunity to possibly change someone’s life.”
Pete Curulli added:
“It could change everything for them. There are so many people on the standby list, and we don’t know if we are going to be calling the first person we put on the list, the last person or someone in between!”
In the end it was Lisa from Kingsley that was randomly selected and invited into the Mix94.5 studio on Friday August 9 to pick a code from the wall.
This is where it gets spooky. When Pete and Kymba rang Lisa she said:
“OH MY GOD! I have to sit down! My heart is racing!
I have to tell you guys, I have a vision board! I wrote ‘Lisa wins $1,000,000!’ on it! I’ve got it with me now, it’s been on my desk all day!”
Lisa bought the vision board (pictured below) into the studio and chose the code TRUFFLE, after one of the show’s psychics, Claudine, from Rivervale, said she was channelling ‘spices and fragrances’.
TRUFFLE unfortunately wasn’t the million dollar code. It was the word POSH, proving Claudine right when everyone realised the connection to Victoria Beckham, also known of course as Posh Spice, and with a fragrance line.
Lisa (pictured with her hubby and Pete and Kymba) did take home $10,000 saying she would use the money to buy a new caravan:
‘I am so happy and I feel like I can finally breathe again! That was very nerve-wrecking!’
