Special anniversary for new digital station

We met on Valentines Day and now it’s our one month anniversary…

Austereo’s newest digital radio station LoveLand has been on air for about a month since quietly launching its love affair with listeners around Valentines Day.

As the name suggests, the station plays love songs.

But it’s not just songs about boy meets, girl, falls in love and lives happily every after.

The playlist also includes songs of unrequited love, such as James Blunt’s You’re Beautiful, as well as love gone bad and break up songs.

Although the station hasn’t been officially launched yet and is still a work in progress, the playlist contains a lot of contemporary artists, with some older love classics thrown in for good measure.

Branding is simple, with a symbolic graphic showing on the digital radio screen and a catchy jingle for la-la-la-Loveland.

Loveland adds to Austereo’s range of digital only offerings such as Stardust, Radar and Ranch. It appears to be targeting a predominantly younger female audience, which will put it up against DMG’s smooth format, which recently extended its coverage on digital radio across the country.
