Splendour in the Mud

The conditions may not have been ideal, but most of the crowd gathered at triple j’s flagship winter event,  Splendour in the Grass, couldn’t care less. The music was great. But if you missed the event and could do without the mud, triple j will let you hear and see much of the three incredible days of live music online.

Their unparalleled multimedia coverage of Splendour In The Grass meant fans could follow the festival, as it happened, all weekend on triple j. Now you can re-live the experience through triple j’s enormous amount of online content.

Head to their Facebook and online gallery for heaps of live photos including highlights like Friends jumping into the audience to hand out flowers and hugs, Ball Park Music hitting a golf ball into the audience and the ever charismatic Father John Misty’s thrusting hips.

Check out Lana Del Rey’s self proclaimed ‘death wedding’ dress, symbolising the end of a tour she was married to. Plus plenty of audience costumes, including the entire cast of Sesame Street, and a shout out to the late great Adam Yauch via a trio of intergalactic Beastie Boys suits.

There’s also plenty of videos – check out decked-out camping cribs, fans in fine form and the Mayor of Splendour’s campsite performance by Band Of Skulls.

Then stream songs on demand from stacks of Splendour artists, including Bloc Party, The Shins, Friends, The Cast of Cheers, Electric Guest, Big Scary, Spiderbait, Seekae and Gypsy and the Cat.
