Last year, Adelaide’s Fresh 927 launched a competition called Generation Fresh, to uncover new radio talent with one person to win a permanent weekend show on the station.
But the talent was so exceptional that from the top 10 finalists, four went on to land weekend shows on Fresh. And, another four were snapped up by commercial radio stations across Australia.
Inaugural Generation Fresh winner Chelsea Barber now co-hosts Breakfast with Craig Pitman on Power FM SA in Murray Bridge.
Also in the top five was Sophie Tarrant, pictured main, who also won the Encouragement award.
She started with some late night shifts on Fresh, started filling in on workdays and next week commences her first commercial radio job hosting workdays in Mount Gambier at SAFM 96.1 Limestone Coast.
Now Generation Fresh 2026 returns with entries open today, Monday, April 27.

You can enter solo, as a duo or even trio.
You just need to submit a 30 sec video introducing yourself and saying why you should be the next voice on Fresh.
Additional entry details are here.
