St. Patrick’s Day arrives early as Steve Blanda turns 60.

2UE’s Steve Blanda turned 60 today and enjoyed celebrating with staff who had organised a surprise for the birthday boy.

Irish singer Damien Leith turned up to lead the roaring 2UE crowd in a rendition of happy birthday.

Steve started his career at 2GB in 1973 and has a world record 17 ACRA’s to his credit.

Peter Saxon caught up with the award winning newsreader late in 2013, describing him as the man with the safest job in radio (read the full story here)
