Star continues to climb in Cairns: Xtra Insights

In the first Xtra Insights Cairns survey since 2019, Star 102.7 has not only gained 5.8% but is now almost double the nearest station with 28.2.

Hit 105.3 Cairns has lost 4.8, dropping down to 15.9, while 99.5 Triple M Cairns has remained mostly unchanged on 15.3.

Star 102.7 made significant gains in all demographics and all sessions, but their sister station 4CA did not fare quite as well, down 1.1 overall to 6.1, and John Mackenzie‘s flagship morning program down 3.3 to 8.6.

In breakfast Cairns longest serving radio team Dave & Inkie (Star) gained 6.2 for 29.4, followed by the statewide regional breakfast show of Cliffo & Gabi (Hit), down 3.9 to 16.6.

Elliott Lovejoy (Triple M) is up by 0.4 to 15.3.

The Cumes tell a similar story with Star gaining 16,000 listeners for a total of 73,400, while Hit is only down by 2,500 to 50,900 and Triple M gained 3,300 for a total of 47,700.
