So is the natural extension from this....someone programming what the AI announcer says on air? Or is that happening already? I know there is a lot of scripted stuff on air but is the day coming when the real human is replaced by the AI who doesn't make a mistake in pronunciations gets the full time gig?
Shudder.....a sad look ahead into the future of the industry.....
Artificial voices is here using Google's translation service.
In your search engine, say Google, type the following search terms: google translate
You will be presented with two boxes. On the left box, type in the text that you want read.
Here is some example text to place in the left-most box:
"That was K C and the Sunshine Band with "Give It Up". Before that was "I'm too sexy for my shirt" by Right Said Fred and top of the break Rihanna featuring Dave Guetta "Who's that Chick". It's three and three quarter minutes to the hour, news on the hour, weather and traffic. Then Fred Nerk will keep you company for the next five hours with the best music. "
You may want to have the text spoken with a particular accent. Select any language from the drop-down list above the left-most box. If a particular language has the facility to be read aloud, you should see a "speaker" icon at the bottom left of the left-most text box.
Not all languages can be read aloud and not all accents which can be read aloud could be understood especially when the method of pronunciation of vowels and consonants differ for each language.
My favourite language settings are Hindi, English and Italian. As mentioned before the method of pronunciation of vowels and consonants differing for each language, you may have to "misspell" the words in order to make the vowel and consonant combinations sound close to sounding like English.
Nevertheless, it does demonstrate that synthetic voices are here and have been available for a long time.
You can record your own "message bank" message on your phone message bank services.
I am waiting for artificial voices to sing.
Thank you
