Steve Price launches Veteran of the Day podcast

Wounded Heroes, the national veteran support organisation aiding Australian veterans with emergency accommodation and financial support, has launched the Veteran of the Day program and podcast series.

The program pays tribute to the sacrifice and inspiration from veterans of the Western Front and the beaches of Anzac Cove, through the deserts of North Africa, the jungles of the Kokoda Track and the islands of the Pacific, in Korea, East Timor and most recently in Iraq and Afghanistan,

The podcast series is hosted by radio, TV and newspaper presenter Steve Price and highlights the experiences of Australians, men and women, who have served at home and abroad in the uniform of the Army, Navy and Air-Force.

Steve talks to those who were there and to the relatives charged with passing on the brave stories of those who have passed and to the men and women in Command today, and he said, “The interviews with veterans tell stories of outstanding bravery, national pride, mateship and the struggle to stay alive. It’s been a very confronting and emotional series to produce.”

Martin Shaw from Wounded Heroes said, “By opening the door to the past we have found Australian Veterans are willing to share their experiences and stories and what better way than this to honour them? As the stories unfold we get to learn of other veteran experiences and some of those who are no longer with us. Sharing their story has healing power. Veterans can understand that they’re not alone and we get to understand what they may be going through.”

Veteran of the Day podcast aims to inspire, emotionally move and encourage all Australians to support our current serving military personnel and those who have gone before them.

This podcast series supported by a dedicated website is a joint initiative of the charity Wounded Heroes and Talent Corp.
