Straight To You: triple j’s Tribute to Nick Cave has won the ARIA for 2012 Best Original Soundtrack Album.

Last November, as the centrepiece of triple j’s Ausmusic Month, the Straight To You tour hit the road with some of Australia’s leading vocalists in tow.

Lead by Musical Director Cameron Bruce, the concerts gave the likes of Abbe May, Adalita, Alex Burnett (Sparkadia), Bertie Blackman, Dan Sultan, Jake Stone (Bluejuice), Johnny Mackay (Children Collide), Kram (Spiderbait), Lanie Lane, Lisa Mitchell, Muscles, Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Urthboy (The Herd) a chance to rework over 35 years of Nick Cave material.

Full of drama, duets and camaraderie, the show was a great success.

From his early days with Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party through to 14 studio albums with The Bad Seeds and two more with Grinderman, Nick Cave has “remained relevant and consistently brilliant.”

The CD of Straight To You: triple j’s Tribute to Nick Cave is the culmination of his songs, re-imagined and performed by incredibly talented Aussie artists, at this unique series of events.
