GfK Radio 360 Survey 1, 2026 cumes yield a lot of information about what we are likely to see come survey 2.
In Sydney, many listeners did what they said they would and have tuned out of Gold 101.7 when Christian O’Connell took over breakfast from the long time partnering of Jonesy and Amanda. For Nova 969 in the city, in a similar situation with Ricki-Lee and Tim moving to breakfast, shifting Fitzy, Wippa and Kate to drive, the breakfast cumes were up, but more significantly station listening increased by 140K, a huge number, with the potential with Kyle and Jackie O‘s departure from KIIS, to convert them further to the station. Kyle and Jackie did take a hit too.
In Melbourne Nova 100‘s Jase and Lauren and The Fox‘s Fifi, Fev and Nick attracted the most listeners across the morning, and Christian O’Connell also saw some gains. This was a big return for Fifi, Fev and Nick, who had slid somewhat across the last year, with an additional 82,000 cumulative audience. Depending on what KIIS 101.1 do, both have the potential to grow further.
triple j Melbourne also saw an 100K plus spike in listenership. This will in part be due to the Hottest 100 which often makes Survey 1 the station’s best one, but I also feel it will be impacted by breakfast co-host Concetta Caristo‘s I’m a Celebrity…..Get Me Out of Here victory earlier this year too. This is significant for those who listened to Kyle and Jackie O. If they clicked with Concetta in the jungle, they might also stick with Concetta and Luka on triple j breakfast in Sydney and Melbourne as a substitute. One to watch.
KIIS 1023 in Adelaide fared poorly, but they are in limbo until Ben and Liam commence on breakfast on April 1. Brisbane’s KIIS 97.3 and Triple M stations, and their breakfast shows, benefitted significantly from Nova’s new team that now doesn’t include Ash Bradnam. In Perth a very large and somewhat surprising drop for Lisa and Russell on Gold 96FM where they usually benefit from an easing into the year.
smooth 95.3 was the most listened to station overall. Jase and Lauren jump from 3rd to 1st as the most listened to breakfast show. There was a significant increase in cumulative listening, as is normal with so much change, as listeners look for alternatives, and one that should continue into Survey 2 in the post Kyle and Jackie O era.
