SYN celebrates the Faces of Australia’s Media

SYN Media (the Student Youth Network), based in Melbourne, are a organisation that provides training and broadcast opportunities for young people to learn to become creators, not just consumers of media.

A campaign has been launched called “This is the face of Australian Media” which over 2 weeks will feature the diverse interests, backgrounds and experiences of the SYN program makers.

The campaign also coincides with the launch of a range of opportunities for individuals and organisations to get involved with SYN.
Some of the opportunities on offer include:

  • The Cultural Partnerships Program: In 2014 SYN is offering 3 scholarships to cultural groups or organisations working with young people from diverse backgrounds to receive free radio and media training. Cultural groups and organisations can apply for a scholarship at syn.org.au/CulturalPartnerships
  • Cross Culture Perspectives: Over summer 2014 SYN is offering free radio and media training to individual young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Interested individuals aged 12-25 from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds can apply at syn.org.au/CrossCulture

SYN Radio broadcasts on 90.7 FM in Melbourne, on digital radio and with Live Streaming through their website.
