SYN Media have appointed Evrim Şen as the organisation’s new General Manager.
 
Evrim joined SYN’s digital channel as Co-Radio Manager, working with regional stations across Australia to collect content to re-broadcast in Melbourne and increase the reach of young producers’ content, and has had multiple leadership roles in community media and the youth sector across the last three and a half years.
 
President Eleanor Doran said the Board received a number of high quality candidates with a record level of interest in the position. “The Board is thrilled to welcome Evrim into the role of General Manager.
 
“Her deep understanding of the community media sector and passion for SYN as an enabler for young people made her a stand out candidate for the position.”
 
Evrim says, “To say that community media has changed my entire life and career is an understatement. I want to give back to the sector that I see has the ability to change lives. I will hone in on the needs of our members when making organisational decisions and revisit SYN’s mission statement.”
 
Evrim’s appointment follows the decision of the previous General Manager Campbell McNolty to step down to explore work overseas, after almost two years as General Manager of SYN.
