Tassie Radio Host In CLEO’s Top 50 Most Eligible Bachelors

Having never had a Tasmanian-based winner of CLEO’s Bachelor Of The Year, the Apple Isle has itself an opportunity in Sea FM’s breakfast host, Nick Gill.

Ex-Adelaide Crow, Gill, seems surprised by the announcement, stating that he’s “convinced it’s still an elaborate prank at (his) expense.”

The nomination comes after a pre-campaign headed up by his on-air co-host Ester ‘Woody’ Woodhams, who forced him to gain publicity through a series of stunts. These included being a meter maid while wearing a satin tracksuit, helping old people across the street even though they were more than capable and conducting a door-knocking mission in a bid to try and kiss babies.

Gill has vowed to donate the money back into Tasmania if he is crowned 2013’s Bachelor of the Year, but is up against some stiff competition in The Voice’s Darren McMullen, X Factor’s Luke Jacobz and 13-time Paralympic gold medalist, Luke Cowdrey.

Gill is joined by fellow Tasmanian Todd Michael of Farmer Wants A Wife fame.

Voting is now open for Tasmania and the radio industry’s support via www.cleo.com.au
