The Two Murrays – Olds (left) and Wilton (right) and that’s just their politics – are bringing more fun to Weekend Afternoons on 2GB.
If you fondly remember Spike Milligan of The Goons you’ll love this tribute and audio of how he infiltrated the newsroom at the ABC.
Great stuff!
As much as I love listening to the "Two Murrays", they are not the first to broadcast the ABC news bulletin read by Rod McNeil being interrupted by Spike Milligan.
I have heard this segment several years ago, and even the low-fidelity version of the snippet has been uploaded more than 10 years ago (as at 05-03-2022).
Here is at least 10 year old segment with telephone quality sound, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eUSdL8bqJc&ab_channel=mrenk .
This is a clearer segment introduced by Rod McNeil in 2014, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4rawSsNlLc .
In addition, it has been reported that the town of Woy Woy has been labelled by Spike Milligan as "the world's only above-ground cemetery".

Perhaps that's why the Central Coast is known as "God's waiting room".
