Little Fox is a pop up DAB+ and digital station designed to keep children under ten entertained whilst in lockdown 2.0. in Victoria.
Mini sibling to Melbourne’s iconic radio station The Fox, Little Fox is ad free, 100% pintsized person safe and is for the families of Melbourne looking for connection, entertainment and education whilst stuck in the home under Stage 3 restrictions.
Little Fox offers daily fun facts, mini lessons, book readings and light relief for kids and parents with regular ‘Dad jokes’ from co-host of The Fox’s breakfast show, Fifi, Fev & Bryon, Brendan Fevola.
To ease the feeling of isolation the children of Melbourne can even hear themselves on the radio, make a shout out to their friends and request a song via the 24-hour shoutout line on 1800 15 11 00
Little Fox is the brainchild of Gemma Fordham, Head of the Hit Network, who said: “I read a story about children in remote areas of Nigeria being educated via a radio ‘school’ every day and felt strongly that there was something in it. When Victoria went into lockdown again, I sensed it was something we could do.
“Certainly not a full remote learning experience but a contribution to our already fiercely loyal Melbourne listeners to provide relief, connection and entertainment for those in the trenches taking their kids through remote learning at home. Our brilliant team turned it around in five days and has shown us just how agile radio can be.”
The Fox’s breakfast show team aren’t the only ones in on the miniature fun. Drive duos Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little and Dave Hughes and Ed Kavalee will pop by to provide positivity and laughs, explain why we are all staying inside and what we need to do to help each other out.
From 7.00pm Little Fox is programmed with lullabies and soothing tunes to assist with night relief for 11 hours straight and provide a soundtrack to wind down from the day.
