Southern Cross Austereo recently held a conference for 70 of their program producers from around the country.

What came out of it was the notion that radio should see their audience less as listeners and more as “fans.” Radio is just one part of their experience – no longer the only part.

This so intrigued U.S. based international program consultant Mark Ramsey, that he contacted SCA’s National Executive Producer of the Fifi and Jules, Drive Show, Sam Cavanagh, to include vid and podcast of his thoughts in Ramsey’s weekly client newsletter.

The discussion is fascinating and demonstrates that even America can learn a thing or two from Australia.
