Friday November 22 marked one year since Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren were told they’d be leaving KIIS 101.1 Breakfast to make way for Kyle and Jackie O. Much has happened since then.
The team thanked listeners on Friday for their support throughout the year, which saw them the top FM Melbourne breakfast show in the recent GfK Survey 7.
Jase Hawkins: That is it for today, Friday, the 22nd of November.
Lauren Phillips: Yes, and just before we go, we just want to thank everyone for listening to our show. It was one year ago today that we were told no one wanted to listen to us on the radio.
Jase: I know that day rings a bell. We got shafted a year ago to the day.
Lauren: Yeah I’ve had enough of talking about that, but we do want to say thank you to everyone for listening to this show. We love waking up with you in the mornings. It’s been a roller coaster of a year for us. Team here at Nova for backing us; we love being here. This has been the greatest professional year of my life.
Jase: It’s been cool, hasn’t it?
Lauren: For sure, yeah, it’s been so fun. So thank you to everyone for making this switch and sticking with us. And I think a year ago, if you could have told us we would be here right now doing this, our little minds would have exploded. We wouldn’t have believed it.
Jase: Mate, a year ago, I was enrolling kids to school on the Gold Coast.
Clint Stanaway: It’s a nice upgrade, isn’t it? We are, two words, happy, and we are thankful.
